Visiting your loved one in our Chapels

At all our funeral homes we have dedicated private chapels of rest where you can visit your loved one, and it's very much your decision. Some find it helps with the acceptance of death, whereas others can find it adds to their grief. We recommended that you alway come with someone to support you in this time, even if the family member or a friend will wait in reception for you when you see your love one.

We also offer service of resting your loved one in the privacy of your home. Some of the families prefer this option as alternatives to a funeral home. We will always discuss your personalise wishes with you and accommodate your requests.

Tony Clarke Funeral Directors prides itself in looking after your loved one with sensitivity and respect at all times. Or chapels of rest are located at 29 Railway Terrace - South Hylton,
255 Southwick Road - Southwick and 190 Hylton Road - Millfield, Sunderland

Tony Clarke Funeral Director

Since 1984, Tony Clarke have served families throughout the Sunderland area as if you were a "member of his family.”

It may not be the most original thought—treating you with the same care and respect I'd treat our own families—however it is the most genuine and sincere sentiment I hold. Understand we are not like conventional businesses because the work we do is personal. We are not driven by individual accomplishments and accolades, but the need to serve you and your family when death occurs and help you through the difficult days that follow. Your personal comfort and wellbeing is our first priority. We are funeral directors but we could just as easily be called family directors. This is personal. We understand what it is like to lose a loved one. Which is why we will always be a funeral home—not some local funeral business.
